This is one of the several labour-intensive coal based industries that was once operational in Somerset. The Somerset Brick and Tile Museum is the only remaining tile kiln in Bridgwater. You can visit the museum and see the various methods and processes that are used in making the impressive variety of tiles, bricks, terracotta plaques and other wares that are used to give towns like Bridgwater, Burnham and Glastonbury that wonderful look. The museum is open from Tuesday to Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
