Would you like to find out how to buy gold coins that are cheap? If you're interested in buying gold bullion coins, either to start or add to your collection, I'm going to tell you a secret way to get a bargain.
Most new investors generally buy the two most popular modern gold bullion coins. These are the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf and the American Gold Eagle coin.
There's nothing wrong with either coin.
Both of these are stunningly beautiful and certainly should be a part of any gold coin investor's portfolio.
However. . .
Even with the recent correction, gold certainly isn't cheap by any measure.
I did some quick online research. . .
At the current time, a 2011 1 ounce Canadian Gold Maple in BU condition is selling for almost $ 40 dollars above the spot price of gold.
A one ounce 2011 American Gold Eagle in BU condition is selling for almost $ 53 above spot!
And these are the least expensive premiums that I could locate.
(Please feel free to do your own research).
There may be other dealers that are offering these coins at lower (or higher) premiums. It usually depends upon the total quantity of coins that you buy.
Now I'm going to share a little secret with you. . . one that most new investors probably don't know!
There are actually foreign gold coins that you can purchase. . . that sell for premiums that are half that of either the American Gold Eagle or Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coin.
Here are three of them:
1. The Mexican 50 Peso Gold Coin - this coin is produced by the Mexican city mint and is an official re-strike. It has a purity of .900 and contains 1.2057 troy oz of fine gold.
2. The Austrian 100 Corona Gold Coin - this lovely coin is produced by the Austrian mint and is also an official re-strike. It has a purity of .900 also and contains 0.9802 troy oz fine gold.
3. The Austrian 4 Ducat Gold Coin - another lovely Austrian coin that is also produced by the Austrian mint and is an official re-strike. It has a purity of .9860 and contains 0.4438 troy oz fine gold.
When you purchase these coins, you get a greater amount of gold for your money then you would by purchasing a gold bullion coin such as the Gold Maple or Gold Eagle.
Now let's address a few concerns you may have about investing in these coins.
1. Liquidity
These gold coins are very popular all around the world. Most major coin dealers buy and sell them on a regular basis.
2. Purity
Even though these foreign gold coins aren't as pure as the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, which has a .9999 fineness and is 24k gold, it's not a big deal.
Reputable coin dealers don't care about purity.
Gold coins are purchased by dealers based on weight, not their pureness.
If you're seriously considering buying gold bullion coins, now is the perfect time because of the recent correction in the price of gold.
The Mexican 50 Peso Gold Coin, Austrian 100 Corona Gold Coin, or the Austrian 4 Ducat Gold Coin are super cheap right now!
