Where Did You Get That Gold Grill?

When thinking about gold as a fashion accessory in today's era it would only be fair to talk about the popularity of the Gold Tooth Gap. This trend of getting a full set of gold teeth isn't necessarily new, however it was made extremely popular by some members of the Hip Hop community in the late 90's and some are still making if fashionable today. Some of the members of Hip Hop groups that made gold caps and Gold Grills popular were Wu Tang Clan, UGK (Under Ground Kings,) The Ghetto Boys and even all the way down to current artists like Lil' Wayne. Some of the gold caps are modified with some designs, some are encrusted with diamonds and some are made from scrap gold.

This popularity within the Hip Hop community has been one that has split the community in two. While some in the community found it childish and immature, some have found it to be a form of status letting others know that they have "Come Up". Whatever the stance, it is no denying that its popularity is here to stay for a long time. And evidence of this is the many sites and promo ads in some Hip-Hop magazine were you can even get some gold capped grills for a decent price.

Now some of you may still be wondering: "What in the World is a Gold Grill?" Well in this case, Gold Grills are referring to having one's teeth capped entirely with a solid gold or gold plated cap. So basically if some has a gold grill and they are outside and the sun happens to be shining on them while smiling, you might be able to get a good glimpse of bright shine of precious gold in your eyes!

And just in case you are wonder, yes this tread is also popular among Women also. I have seen first hand many women in the Hip-Hop community that did not hesitate to get a gold grill.
 
Now, one may be reading this and maybe you even have had some gold grills of your own. Maybe they are just sitting around collecting dust. There is an opportunity to sell the gold caps and it and that maybe more beneficial to you than just collecting dust on the dresser. It's interesting to know that Gold Caps and fillings didn't necessarily start out as a fashion accessory; it started out a way that the person had to get it due to some cosmetic issue in the mouth. Whatever the reasons it's cool to know that on any given day, someone, somewhere, somehow has gold on their grill.
